I'm back at work and so far, so good...yes, I know it's only been two days but it feels nice. Working from home today with Kennedy hasn't been too bad. She's slightly on the cranky side since she's had snot issues for the past week due to the weather change. As welcome as that change has been (hello sweaters!), it's wreaking havoc on those of us with sinus problems and the wee ones it seems. I think I'm really going to enjoy going to the office one day and being home the next. It feels balanced to me. :)
Our weekend was packed full. Jason's parents were in for a visit so we went down to Pumpkinfest for a while. People (ahem, kids in costumes) were everywhere. There was even a real "great pumpkin" that came all the way from our sister city in Canada (who knew we had a sister city?)! The weather couldn't have been more perfect - gorgeous sunshine with a crisp chill in the air. Sunday, we had an extra special visit from Raven and little Mary-Kate! Raven is always willing to make effort to come take pictures of our sweet babies. So thankful for that. It's going to be great to have all of Kennedy's first year documented by my lovely and very talented friend. Thanks bunches, Raven. Kennedy really surprised me by being all smiles for the camera. It was complete luck, so I'm very anxious to see the results!
I can't believe Halloween is this Friday. I've got to get with the program and take some pictures of little K in costume and I would love to find time for these~ We'll see...but let's not hold our breath! ;)
Last week got really crazy...my aunt ended up in the hospital and was there almost two weeks. She had a bad infection, then surgery. It really threw us all for a loop. She is doing good now and got to come home yesterday, so things are looking up. It was a scary couple of days though. Needless to say I spent quite a bit of time going back and forth to see her. Seeing my aunt go through that was rough. She has such a big heart and personality~ happy to know she'll be back as good as ever soon!
We attempted the pumpkin patch again the weekend before last with Courtney and Lizzie. Kennedy was in better spirits, but trying to drink a bottle with all the festivities and wind gusts proved to be futile. Courtney and I had to pack up and head home so our babies would finish eating!
I guess that's about it for now...life is just as busy as ever! Good luck to Erin as she runs the NYC Marathon this weekend!!
